Travel over mountain ridge close to Zell am See with our friends.
We spent two days camping on the ridge, we saw much cattle, horses
and beautiful views.

Week in Austria, especially Lechtaller Alp mountains. The Eagle Way is long
distance trail. We picked last couple sections which were marked as difficult and
rightly so. In the hindsight it was wonderful move, with many steep saddles,
large valleys and varying beautiful landscape.

with sleeping on mountain chalet called Habsburghaus.

Four days next to Austria-Italy border in area called Carinthia (or Kärnten in
german). It is wonderful place of large lakes hidden between mountains. We
originally planned bike trip, but ended doing local Via Feratas. Combined
with nice fall weather and very little people around it was great vacation.

Quick weekend before Christmas on empty ski slopes in Austria. Stuhleck is
about three hours drive from Brno, so we decided to escape pre-Christmas craziness.
Wonderful skiing was good reward.

Our younger boy Honza loves animals. Mostly because of this we planned a train
trip to Vienna, capital of Austria, about two hours of ride. In one of defense towers,
built during WWII, there is large oceanographic exposition with sharks, rays, turtles,
octopusses and many other ocean animals. On our way back to train station, we also
spent few hours in Prater, the large and famous amusement park.

Originally Alice had plan to visit Carinthia area in Austria. There is
wonderful area surrounded by high mountains, made mostly from meadows, lakes
and nice villages. But because it takes amost 8 hours to get there, we looked
for a closer area in Austria - land around Neusiedler See. We travelled mostly
by bike with a trailer and a child seat, taking advantage of generally flat
terrain.

Three days spent at Neusiedler See, large lake in north eastern Austria. Despite
my sprained ankle, slowly healing, we make about 80 kilometers around the lake.
We tasted local wine and cuisine, and really took some rest from our kids.

Quick trip into Austria to climb prepared iron route through south face of
Dachstein mountains. After two hours of coming it was nice four hours of climbing
up to chalet standing just on top of the route.

One day skiing in close Austria mountains. We chose probably best
resort called Hochkar, placed near village Goestling an der Ybbs.
It is a valley hemmed in high mountains, from which ski slopes go down.
Features many types and difficulties, for those who wants something special
there are also not maintained areas of deep snow.

many vendors come to this resort and offer borrowing their latest goods.
You can try even models that you could otherwise not afford.

Traditional University organized trip into close mountain range in Austria.
This time it was Hochschwab and June was found quite early, because there were
a lot of snow over the higher parts. Also fog, clouds, sometimes rain and many
other improvement over boring sunny weather.

At the time it seems to be last chance to catch with some snow. Austrian
mountains in northern part are a bit higher, so our odds weren't that bad.
It turned out to be very nice, although except for slopes there was no snow cover.

Lower Austria. This time it is Schneealpe (Snow Alp). We need to train

word that stands for 'Hike on Alps'. My girl-friend is just studying there,
so we can take part. In fact, everybody is invited, who like hiking. This time
was not typical June weather ...

My friend Vojta has planned big one-weekend hike in mountains of Austria.
Unhappily one of our team had an accident, so we can watch rescue helicopter in
action. Fortunately it was not serious injury, other day we returned at full
stregth.
